Child psychotherapy
CHILDREN'S THERAPY
How do I work in child therapy?
Although child psychotherapy exists within the framework of adult psychotherapy, it has important distinctive features. The key is to develop trust between me and the child and the participation of parents in this process.
Child therapy is first of all, interviews, I don’t give injections, I don’t put a person into hypnosis, I don’t conduct psychological experiments.
My main tools as a child psychotherapist are communication, pen, paper, and available materials.
Playfully, I ask the child how she/he is doing:
* in your family
* in your environment
* with your friends and interests
We get a lot of positive emotions, both the child and I. Working with children is very interesting. They have a very flexible psyche, they quickly forget grievances and just as quickly, literally in one to two sessions they can get rid of emotional problems and positively change behavior.
